After installing a completely new lighting system in the Zuiveringshal last year, it was now time for the Transformatorhuis which is also part of the Westergasfabriek site.
We have installed a large number of CLF Lighting and CLS fixtures to make the set suitable for the many different uses of this distinctive hall. The set consists of CLF Ares, CLF Quadcolor and CLF Hercules, with the Hercules specially mounted in industrial hanging lamps. The base light chosen for the roof structure is the CLS Ruby.
Complete control of the LED rig is done through a Martin Professional M-PC system, and a basic control panel located in the hall. Visiting technicians can make use of one of the ART-NET connections to take over the rig and control it themselves.
Installing LED lights in event locations is part of a wider innovation project by the Westergasfabriek to makes its buildings and site more sustainable. As part of this the Westergasfabriek participates in the 'National Monument Sustainability' pilot scheme operated by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, The aim of this is to spread information about how you can make national monuments more sustainable whilst maintaining their characteristic features.
Alongside LED lighting the Westergasfabriek has also invested in extra insulation, waste processing and an entirely sustainable hotel opening early 2018). At the moment a number of cultural institutions in Amsterdam are buying in completely green energy.
