This characteristic building is part of the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam and it is used for tradeshows, presentations, live shows and dance events.

The LED lighting is installed to replace the fluorescent and halogen lighting and simultaneously, to create a multifunctional lighting setup which can be used during shows shows. At an earlier stage, the Zuiveringshal and the Transformatorhuis were also equipped with LED lighting.

On the inside of the Gashouder the roof is highlighted by 20 pieces of CLF Ares, to create highlights and to emphasize the industrian character. The CLF Ares is also used in the other halls, especially because of the very high output. The CLS Lina HP is chosen to replace the TL tubes and also functions as work lighting.

For the outside is equipped with CLS Revo fixtures. 40 pieces of CLS Revo Compact fixtures serve as downlighter. Beside that, 60 CLS Revo RGBA fixtures are installed as uplighter.

The entire installation is controlled by a Martin Professional M-PC system. By using one of the different control panels which are available in the hall, several basic presets can be selected. Guest technicians can take control over the installation by plugging into one of the art-net connections. The lighting outside is being determined automatically by sunrise and sunset. A KNX system minimize peaks when switching on.

The installation of LED lighting is part of a sustainability innovation project of the Westergasfabriek. The Westergasfabriek  joined the pilot ‘Sustainable National Monuments’ of the ministry of OCW, in order to gain more knowledge about sustainability with preserving characteristic values.
