ARNHEM, The Netherlands – Musis Arnhem, one of the oldest and most prestigious concert halls in the Netherlands, has completed a major audio upgrade to meet the ever-increasing demands of its diverse programming. The venue, which hosts over 100 concerts annually across various genres, has installed an L-Acoustics L Series loudspeaker system, representing a significant step forward in audio quality.
As an L-Acoustics Certified Partner, Fairlight guided the design and implementation of the new system. The project presented unique challenges, including the need to accommodate the variety of events in the Parkzaal and the venue’s distinctive 16 by 11-meter glass rear wall.
User-friendly professional sound system exceeds expectations

A unique sound solution for unique challenges
The installation in the Parkzaal, with a capacity of 2,000 attendees, required a versatile sound system capable of delivering exceptional quality for all types of performances, from classical to contemporary. Key challenges included achieving uniform sound pressure across all listening positions while maintaining low sound levels for classical concerts and corporate events. The system also needed to adapt to the hall’s adjustable acoustics, including reflective oak walls and 400 sound-absorbing panels, while minimizing visual impact in the architecturally striking venue. Additionally, the team had to account for the complex acoustics caused by the balcony design.
The team utilized L-Acoustics Soundvision software to address these challenges during the design process. This powerful tool allowed them to virtually test and refine various configurations, ensuring optimal coverage and performance before the physical installation began.
