Earlier this year Floriworld openend it's doors. Floriworld is located next to the flower auction in Aaalsmeer. In this experience center, visitors from around the world can immerse themselves in the world of flowers and plants; one of the most important export products of the Netherlands. You will learn about the role of flowers and plants in our lives, but you can also participate in a real flower auction or learn how to arrange flowers.

DeFine supplied all the interactive technology, including 31 Epson projectors that vary from 7000 to 12000 lumens. Various techniques were tested and prototypes were developed during the one-year run-up phase. An important part were the RFID wristbands that provide personalized shows throughout the tour. "The goal was to create an immersive experience with interactive techniques", says Stefan Hemmes, owner of DeFine. "The technique had to blend into the environment.''

During the design phase, a lot of time was taken to compare projectors. Hemmes: "In terms of colors and light output, Epson definitely came out as the absolute best. Epson's extensive lens portfolio also greatly contributed to our choice. The difference between 3LCD and single DLP technology emerged in various test setups. Colors are better justified with Epson's 3LCD technique. Ultimaly everyone involved unanimously chose Epson.''

The absolute eyecatcher of FloriWorld is the 'Embrace Me'. In this 438m² space, 19 Epson EB-L1495U projectors project onto the walls and the floor. "The mapping, including edge-blending, geometric correction and color correction, was configured in the projectors themselves. In the Watchout media player, the final corrections were then performed. We discussed our design a lot with Fairlight and Epson. In the end we came to the right selection of projectors and lenses.
